Bringing High Speed Internet & Music to every corner

Working closely with a renowned Cotswold construction company, the brief was to provide technology discretely to complement the cosmetics and requirements of the client.

With high-speed fibre broadband to the property, they wanted to ensure this was available wherever they were in the house, especially in the home office. Subtle in-ceiling speakers were also requested in key living spaces for background audio and easy to use.

Liaising with the electrical contractor, we provided a cable schematic and schedule to run and conceal the required cabling infrastructure into the fabric of the building. Each cable specified has a specific task and is labelled for easy future identification. Where required, additional cabling was specified for redundancy and potential future requirements.

Wired and wireless network coverage was essential throughout the property, so we created a wireless heat map to ensure each corner was covered for the family and reliably, especially as it was to be used heavily for working from home. The entire network can also be monitored, managed and maintained through our cloud servers so the client can benefit from remote changes and updates without requiring a site visit.

The audio system was based on the music services the client uses and a system the client was familiar with to ensure ease of use and easy access to all their current music libraries.

A centrally located equipment rack was installed which housed the main equipment including the router, PoE+ network switch and music amplifiers along with a battery backup UPS. This minimised the equipment on show around the house to keep everything discrete as per the original brief. Wireless Access Points (WAPs) were also installed in locations where they wouldn’t be seen if possible, such as inside cupboards.

The audio can be fully controlled using mobile devices or tablets from anywhere within the property with an easy-to-use interface. With quick access to all their favourite music for a relaxing evening or a party night with friends, all the boxes were ticked.
